Job summary

The Staff Pharmacist at Accredo is a remote position across the United States, requiring licensure in AZ, FL, IN, OH, or PA. The role focuses on interpreting prescriptions, verifying information, and expediting processing, with opportunities to train junior pharmacists and ensure quality and service levels.

The ideal candidate has a PharmD or Bachelor's in Pharmacy, strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills, and can adapt to flexible schedules with peak-volume times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication; ability to interpret prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients regarding medication use and potential drug interactions.
• Contact physicians for new or transfer authorizations.
• Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs when possible.
• Interpret prescriptions and verify drug strength, sig, and drug name to expedite processing.
• Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians.
• Verify and confirm validity of controlled substances.
• Back up other pharmacists as needed and train less experienced staff.
