Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy required; licensure in good standing.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret prescriptions and ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients regarding medication use and potential drug interactions.
• Contact physicians for new or transfer authorizations.
• Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs.
• Interpret prescriptions accurately and verify details in the system.
• Verify information with doctors or patients to expedite orders.
• Provide oversight and QA to pharmacy technicians.
• Verify validity of controlled substances.
• Back up other pharmacists and train staff as needed.
