Samsara is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer to shape the direction of its application security and vulnerability management programs. You will influence a broad surface area across cloud services, internal systems, and firmware, while retaining the ability to dive deep into critical security priorities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in cloud/security engineering across a broad, multi-product environment.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, and JavaScript.
• Ability to independently set technical and architectural direction for a security program.
• Significant experience with vulnerability management tooling such as Wiz and Semgrep and with CVSS/EPSS.
• Strong AWS cloud services background.
• Deep understanding of SAST, DAST, and SCA.
• Hands-on use of AI/LLM tooling in security workflows and remediation drafting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing strategy, operation, and continuous improvement of the vulnerability management program and core application security programs.
• Drive down MTTR across the vulnerability backlog as SLAs tighten.
• Build automation and tooling to scale detection and response across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems.
• Set technical and architectural direction translating leadership priorities into execution plans.
• Drive remediation by partnering with engineering and TPM on reporting.
• Mentor engineers on secure design and remediation practices.
• Communicate risk and remediation tradeoffs to engineering leadership for action.
• Participate in security incident investigations involving high-profile vulnerabilities.
• On-call support for critical vulnerability response.
• Champion Samsara’s culture and grow security capabilities as the company scales.
