Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Staff/Senior Application Security Engineer to lead the vulnerability management program across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems. You will define the strategy, drive remediation, and scale security tooling with automation and AI-enhanced workflows.

The role offers a flexible, remote-friendly model in the United States and opportunities to influence a broad surface area while partnering with engineering and PMs to reduce risk and improve security posture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience as a cloud or security engineer in a multi-product enterprise.
• Ability to independently set technical and architectural direction for a security program and drive remediation without direct authority.
• Deep understanding of SAST, DAST, and SCA; familiarity with vulnerability scoring such as CVSS/EPSS.
• Hands-on use of AI/LLM tooling in security workflows and ability to discuss AI impact on threat landscape.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, operation, and continuous improvement of Samsara's vulnerability management program.
• Own MTTR reduction across the backlog and meet SLAs.
• Build automation and tooling to scale detection and response across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems.
• Set program direction and translate leadership priorities into execution plans.
• Drive remediation by partnering with engineering and PM for reporting.
• Mentor engineers in secure design and remediation practices.
• Communicate risk and remediation tradeoffs to engineering leadership.
• Participate in security incident investigations involving high-profile vulnerabilities.
• Be on call to support critical vulnerability response.
• Embed Samsara’s cultural principles across global teams.
