Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer to lead vulnerability management across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems. You’ll define the program, drive MTTR down, and build automation that scales detection and remediation while aligning with leadership priorities.

This is a remote position open to candidates in the United States, offering high-visibility impact, collaboration with engineering teams, and opportunities to influence security across a growing product portfolio.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience as a cloud engineer or security engineer.
• Demonstrated ability to independently set technical and architectural direction for security programs.
• Experience with modern vulnerability management tooling (Wiz, Semgrep) and vulnerability scoring frameworks (CVSS/EPSS).
• Deep understanding of SAST, DAST, and SCA.
• Hands-on use of AI/LLM tooling in security workflows and credibility speaking on AI-enabled security.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing strategy, operation, and continuous improvement of the vulnerability management program.
• Own and drive MTTR across the backlog and SLAs.
• Build automation and tooling to scale vulnerability detection/response across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems.
• Set technical and architectural direction for the security program and translate priorities into execution plans.
• Mentor engineers on secure design and remediation practices and serve as a technical security voice.
