Samsara is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer to lead vulnerability management and overall application security strategy. You will partner with engineering to implement scalable controls and drive remediation across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems.

The role emphasizes building automation, influencing prioritization, and mentoring teams in secure design while operating in a highly visible, remote-capable environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud or security engineering with vulnerability mgmt across multi-product enterprise.
• Ability to independently set technical and architectural direction for security programs and drive remediation.
• Experience with modern vulnerability tooling (Wiz, Semgrep) and CVSS/EPSS scoring.
• Understanding of SAST, DAST, and SCA.
• Hands-on use of AI/LLM tooling in security workflows and threat landscape awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, operation, and continuous improvement of Samsara's vulnerability management and core application security programs.
• Own MTTR reduction across vulnerability backlog as SLAs tighten.
• Build automation and tooling to scale detection and response across cloud, IoT, and corporate systems.
• Set technical direction translating leadership priorities into execution plans.
• Drive remediation through collaboration with engineering and cross-functional partners.
