Butterfly Network, Inc. is seeking a Staff Android Engineer to build native Android apps that transform ultrasound UX for mobile use. You will drive software architecture, collaborate with product, design, and clinical teams, and deliver elegant, scalable solutions.

You will work with hardware, cloud, ML, and imaging teams to integrate cross-cutting features, mentor teammates, and contribute to a fast-moving, innovative health-tech environment. Remote-friendly with hybrid options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science / Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of native Android application development.
• Strong grasp of Kotlin and coroutines/reactive framework design patterns.
• Strong grasp of Jetpack Compose and View-based UI Development
• Strong grasp of JUnit unit testing and knowledge of UI automation (Espresso)
• A passion for creating something meaningful.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with Android and iOS developers to unbox ambiguous requirements.
• Work with product managers, designers, and clinicians to develop new imaging experiences.
• Produce high-quality, efficient Kotlin code and follow architecture patterns.
• Mentor engineers at all levels.
• Collaborate with device software, cloud, ML, and imaging teams to integrate features.
• Participate in user research sessions to inform product development.
