Job summary

Butterfly Network, Inc. is seeking a Staff Android Engineer to build native Android apps and reinvent the ultrasound experience for the mobile age.

You will improve software architecture, mentor engineers, and work with hardware, cloud, ML, control software, and imaging teams to deliver cross-cutting features. You will utilize Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flow, and GraphQL while collaborating with product managers, designers, and clinicians to create advanced medical imaging experiences.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years native Android app development.
• Strong Kotlin and coroutines/reactive framework design patterns.
• Strong Jetpack Compose and View-based UI development.
• JUnit unit testing and UI automation (Espresso).
• Passion for creating meaningful software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Android and iOS developers to clarify requirements.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and clinicians to shape imaging experiences.
• Produce high-quality, efficient Kotlin code with good test coverage.
• Follow established architecture patterns and evolve the codebase with the team.
• Mentor engineers at all levels and promote learning.
• Work with deep learning, telemedicine, and Butterfly iQ device integrations.
• Leverage Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flow, and GraphQL.
• Break down work into actionable tickets with product managers.
