Job summary

Experian seeks a Staff AI Architect to lead the technical vision for our cloud-native platform and agentic AI capabilities. You will shape system design and promote infrastructure excellence at scale across the organization. This individual contributor role reports to the Sr.

Principal Engineer and requires deep expertise in AWS, multi-account governance, and advanced AI orchestration. You will mentor engineers and drive ADRs in collaboration with Product and Partners.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering and systems architecture.
• 3+ years as architect or principal engineer.
• 5+ years AWS at scale with multi-account, VPC, IAM, and cost optimization.
• Experience with distributed systems at high availability and low latency.
• Experience designing agentic AI architectures and tool integration.
• Proficiency in DevOps and platform engineering (Kubernetes, Terraform/CDK, GitOps, CI/CD).
• Knowledge of API gateway patterns (REST, gRPC, async).
• Experience with SRE practices including SLOs and incident response.
• Cloud security architecture knowledge (zero-trust, secrets management).
• Data architectures: streaming (Kafka/Kinesis), data lakes, caching.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architectural blueprint for cloud-native apps on AWS at scale.
• Define agentic AI architecture patterns and reference architectures.
• Govern DevOps standards across the organization: CI/CD, GitOps, deployment strategies.
• Design platform infrastructure: ECS, EKS, service mesh, IAM, data stores.
• Lead architecture reviews and binding technical decisions on high-risk changes.
• Define SLOs/SLIs, logging, tracing, capacity planning, incident response frameworks.
• Introduce new technologies via PoC and communities of practice.
• Produce ADRs, diagrams, threat models, runbooks for platform design.
• Advise Product and Partners translating constraints into options.
• Mentor staff on architectural thinking and conduct design reviews.
