Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years work experience ideal; non-profit experience a plus.
• Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills; accounting software experience required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a predominantly remote environment.
• DC/Maryland/Northern Virginia geographic location preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Process payroll through external payroll processor; month-end journal entry.
• Reconcile monthly balance sheet and work papers.
• Prepare, post, and record customer payments and AR transactions.
• Prepare and oversee Form 1099-NEC and 1099-Misc at year-end.
• Support the year-end audit process with required schedules.
• Assist accounting system overhaul and implementation.
• Respond to contractor, vendor, customer, and employee inquiries.
