Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Staff Accountant to support accounting for 11 entities in a fully remote setup. You will handle GL activity, reconciliations, and month-end close while collaborating with finance, operations, and leadership to ensure timely, accurate financial information in line with internal controls.

The role emphasizes journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and process improvements in a distributed team environment. Strong Excel and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience required.
• Experience in multi-entity or hospitality environments preferred but not required.
• Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, with documentation.
• Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close across entities.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and timely.
• Manage customer billing and aging reports.
• Upload payroll journals and reconcile payroll accounts.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
• Prepare and distribute financial reports and leadership materials.
• Prepare agendas and meeting summaries.
• Track deliverables and milestones for finance initiatives.
• Support special projects and process improvements.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and policies.
