Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health seeks a Staff Accountant to manage general ledger, month-end close, and accounts payable in a government contracting environment. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile ledgers, and support ASC 606 revenue recognition and contract billing across multiple contract types.

This remote-friendly role collaborates with the Accounting Manager and program teams to ensure GAAP compliance, strong internal controls, and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Three or more years of general ledger or staff accounting experience, including government contractor exposure.
• Hands‑on experience with Unanet and GL processing.
• Working knowledge of FAR Part 31, DCAA, and indirect rate structures.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and account reconciliation proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, depreciation, reclassifications) per GAAP.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (cash, AR, AP, accruals, fixed assets).
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close within deadlines.
• Prepare schedules and analyses (budget-to-actual, variance reports).
• Maintain chart of accounts and reporting structures with Accounting Manager.
• Support labor cost distribution and timekeeping compliance across systems.
• Assist with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and contract billing (various contract types).
• Respond to DCAA/DCMA/auditors requests and maintain compliance with FAR/Uniform Guidance.
