Job summary

SBSI is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant / Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage multiple small business clients remotely, with the team based in Golden, Colorado. You will handle full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, and month-end close while delivering accurate financial statements.

You'll coordinate with clients and internal teams, ensure 1099s and W-9s are compliant, maintain ledgers, and support growth initiatives as SBSI continues its national expansion.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping in a professional‑services or multi‑client environment.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (Required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• NetSuite experience a plus (Oracle NetSuite).
• Remote work readiness and client-facing ability.

Responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle bookkeeping for multiple small business clients (AP/AR, payroll, month‑end).
• Prepare accurate financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow).
• Post journal entries and maintain general ledger activity.
• Coordinate payroll processes including timesheet review and reconciliations.
• Manage vendor records, W‑9 collection, and 1099 preparation.
• Support month‑end close with reconciliations and work papers.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Communicate with clients to obtain missing information and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage multiple client accounts to meet weekly, monthly, and year‑end deadlines.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
