Job summary

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, is seeking a senior software engineer to design and build scalable web applications using Python and Bash. You will orchestrate containers with Kubernetes and AWS ECS, administer AWS infrastructure, and implement observability with Grafana and APM tools.

You will configure networking, implement IaC with Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation, and build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and CodeDeploy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
Seven years of experience developing software and web applications using Python and Bash scripting.
Experience administering AWS cloud infrastructure and managed services.
Experience with Grafana for metrics visualization and monitoring.
Experience Linux systems administration.
Experience with cloud-native networking (HAProxy, Nginx) for load balancing.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership in designing and developing software and web applications using Python and Bash scripting.
Perform container orchestration and cluster management using Kubernetes and AWS ECS.
Administer AWS cloud infrastructure and managed services.
Implement metrics collection, logging, APM, and tracing using Grafana.
Configure load balancing and networking components (Envoy, gRPC, protobuf).
Develop CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and AWS CodeDeploy.
Mentor junior engineers and coordinate scrum events for timely delivery.
