Job summary

Comcast Advertising is seeking a remote Senior Software Engineer to lead development of scalable web apps using Python and Bash. You will design, deploy, and optimize distributed systems, manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS, and implement robust CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and CodeDeploy.

You will monitor and troubleshoot performance with Grafana, implement IaC with Terraform and CloudFormation, and maintain cloud-native networking using Envoy, Nginx, and HAProxy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of software/web development experience with Python and Bash.
• Experience administering AWS cloud infrastructure and managed services.
• Experience with Grafana for metrics, logging, and monitoring.
• Proficiency in Linux systems administration.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CodeDeploy).
• Knowledge of container orchestration with Kubernetes and AWS ECS.
• Experience configuring load balancers and proxies (Envoy, Nginx, HAProxy).
• Familiarity with Aerospike databases and OpenRTB/VAST protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in designing and developing software and web apps using Python and Bash.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and AWS ECS for container orchestration.
• Administer AWS cloud infrastructure and managed services.
• Collect metrics and visualize data with Grafana; centralize logging and APM.
• Configure infrastructure as code with Terraform and CloudFormation; use Ansible.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and CodeDeploy.
• Perform Linux systems administration and manage cloud-native networking.
• Configure load balancing and messaging with Envoy, gRPC, and protobuf.
• Administer Aerospike databases; use ArgoCD and Argo Workflows for deployment.
