Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Kubernetes Platform to join a leading cloud networking and infrastructure organization. The role focuses on maintaining Kubernetes infrastructure across AWS and on‑prem environments, driving reliability, automation, and operational excellence for highly available production systems.

The SRE will manage and scale Kubernetes clusters, implement IaC, and collaborate with development teams to deploy and upgrade services.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in SRE/DevOps or related role.
• Hands-on Kubernetes management in production.
• Experience in AWS and on-prem environments.
• Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
• IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Scripting with Python/Go/Ruby.
• Monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Exposure to regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage, build, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across AWS and on-premises.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues impacting Kubernetes infrastructure and production services.
• Administer Linux-based systems including performance tuning and root cause analysis.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Develop automation to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and platform reliability.
• Support Kubernetes cluster upgrades, patching, deployments, and maintenance activities.
• Partner with development and infrastructure teams to support deployments and platform initiatives.
• Utilize monitoring and observability tools to proactively identify performance issues.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents as needed.
