Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support a Kubernetes-based platform across highly regulated cloud and on‑prem environments. This long-term contract role emphasizes Linux administration, automation, and cloud technologies, with remote US work possible.

You will work with senior engineers to enhance platform reliability, scalability, and security while upholding compliance-driven initiatives and improving CI/CD pipelines and IaC practices.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in SRE/DevOps/Platform Engineering or similar.
• Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production.
• Experience with AWS/Azure or similar cloud platforms; GovCloud a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and support Kubernetes clusters across on-prem and AWS.
• Monitor reliability, availability, and performance through observability and troubleshooting.
• Develop automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Define and track service reliability metrics (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets).
• Support compliance, security, auditing in regulated environments.
• Contribute to IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation; enhance CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Security, Platform, and App teams to deliver reliable infrastructure.
