Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Kubernetes Platform to manage and optimize Kubernetes across AWS and on-prem environments. The role emphasizes reliability, automation, and production excellence in cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has strong Linux admin skills, IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation, and hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and ArgoCD to support deployments and platform initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years in SRE/DevOps/Platform Engineering
• Hands-on Kubernetes production experience across cloud and on-prem
• Proficient Linux admin and troubleshooting
• IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience with Prometheus/Grafana and monitoring
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Knowledge of container security practices is a plus
• Experience in regulated environments is a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters across AWS and on-premises.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in production services.
• Administer Linux systems; performance tuning and RCA.
• Implement IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalents.
• Develop automation to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Support Kubernetes upgrades, patches, and deployments.
• Collaborate with dev and infra teams for deployments.
• Utilize observability tools to identify performance issues.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents.
