Job summary
ON.energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - MV AI UPS Data Centers & Storage to lead design, validation, and optimization of utility-scale BESS projects for data centers and grid applications. You will drive battery sizing, vendor evaluation, EMS/Plant Controller integration, and SCADA analytics, reporting to the Chief Electrical Engineer.
Requirements include 8+ years in electrical engineering with battery systems, PSCAD/MATLAB proficiency, and strong Python/Jupyter/Git skills.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience focusing on battery systems and utility-scale energy storage.
- Experience evaluating BESS vendors and validating inverter/PCS performance.
- Proven ability to lead EMS/Plant Controller integration and SCADA configuration for BESS deployments.
- Strong experience with PSCAD and MATLAB for modeling and validation.
- Proficient in Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and Git for engineering analysis and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead battery sizing and lifecycle modeling for utility-scale BESS projects.
- Review and validate BESS vendor models and inverter/PCS performance.
- Drive EMS and Plant Controller integration, including SCADA configuration and analytics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver optimized energy storage solutions.
