Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Senior Actuary to join the Capital Forecasting team and lead our P&C capital performance framework. You will connect underwriting performance, pricing, reserving insights, and capital metrics to enterprise decisions, collaborating across Finance, Actuarial, Risk Management and business leaders.

You will guide the development of target returns and combined ratios, monitor capital deployment, and articulate recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science or similar.
Eight or more years of actuarial experience preferred; FCAS or advanced designation preferred.
Proven ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

Act as senior P&C actuarial expert for target returns and capital analytics.
Enhance capital monitoring framework to support deployment decisions.
Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, Risk Management and leaders to set granular targets.
Review assumptions, methodologies, and performance; recommend changes.
Document assumptions and data sources; present cohesive recommendations to leadership.
