Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our enterprise infrastructure team. You will manage, optimize, and secure mission-critical Microsoft SQL Server environments across production, development, and DR platforms in a remote USA setting.

The role emphasizes HA/DR, performance tuning, automation, and cloud-based services; you will collaborate with development, cloud, and security teams to drive modernization and ensure high availability, data

Qualifications

8+ years of SQL Server DBA experience.
Experience with HA/DR technologies (Always On, Clustering, Replication, Mirroring, Log Shipping).
Proficient in T-SQL development and troubleshooting.
Production support and on-call experience.
Windows Server administration expertise.

Responsibilities

Administer and optimize SQL Server environments across production, development, test, and DR platforms.
Monitor health, performance, availability, and capacity; tune queries, stored procedures, indexes, statistics, and execution plans.
Design, implement, and support HA/DR solutions (Always On, Clustering, Replication, Log Shipping).
Develop, test, and maintain backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies.
