Job summary

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Database Administrator to manage Oracle 19c/21c and MS SQL Server across Windows and Linux, with emphasis on security, backup, and performance.

You will implement high availability (AlwaysOn, RAC, Data Guard), conduct DR drills, and optimize queries while collaborating with IT, engineering, and cybersecurity teams in a federal/government context. Remote work is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in Oracle and MS SQL Server environments.
• Experience configuring high-availability solutions (AlwaysOn, RAC, Data Guard) and DR drills.
• Hands-on with backups, patching, upgrades, and security hardening.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle and MS SQL Server across Windows and Linux.
• Perform maintenance: index rebuilds, statistics, tablespace management, DBCC.
• Design and implement backup/recovery strategies (RMAN, SQL Server tools).
• Monitor health with OEM/SSMS/Profiler; optimize SQL/PL-SQL/T-SQL.
• Enforce security policies, access controls, encryption, and STIGs.
