Job summary

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to install, configure, and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases in a remote, highly secure environment across the United States.

The role emphasizes performance tuning, backup/recovery, security hardening, and DR/HA implementations such as RAC, Data Guard, and AlwaysOn. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in enterprise DBAs are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience considered.
• 5+ years as a Database Administrator for Oracle and MS SQL Server in enterprise settings.
• Experience configuring AlwaysOn, RAC, and Data Guard for high availability.
• Hands-on backup, restore, patching, and version upgrades in multi-DB environments.
• Proficient in SQL, T-SQL, and PL/SQL scripting; strong automation skills.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Database Administration & Maintenance across Oracle 19c/21c and SQL Server 2016–2022.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade multi-platform database environments on Windows and Linux.
• Manage storage, capacity planning, and performance tuning for OLTP/OLAP workloads.
• Design and implement backup/recovery strategies using RMAN and SQL Server tools.
• Configure high-availability solutions including RAC, Data Guard, and AlwaysOn.
• Monitor health with OEM Cloud Control, SSMS, and SQL Profiler; optimize queries.
• Automate tasks with PowerShell, Bash, or Python; enforce security hardening.
