Job summary

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage Oracle and MS SQL Server environments in a remote U.S. setting. The role demands 5+ years of enterprise experience, strong scripting abilities, and expertise in HA/DR, security hardening, and performance tuning.

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to maintain data integrity, optimize workloads, and implement robust backup strategies while adhering to DISA STIGs and compliance guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Administration, or related field.
Minimum 5+ years as a Database Administrator for Oracle and MS SQL Server in enterprise settings.
Experience with AlwaysOn, RAC, Data Guard, patching, backups, and upgrades.
Proficient in SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL scripting; strong automation via PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Solid understanding of security standards, access controls, encryption, and auditing.

Responsibilities

Install, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server environments on Windows and Linux.
Design high-availability and disaster recovery solutions (RAC, Data Guard, AlwaysOn).
Monitor performance; tune queries and memory/CPU/I/O usage for OLTP/OLAP workloads.
Enforce security, STIGs, encryption at rest/in transit, and auditing.
