Job summary

Bond-Pro, a 25+ year software company and leader in enterprise software for surety bonds, seeks a Database Developer/Administrator. This 100% remote, full-time role emphasizes SQL Server development, production support, data patching, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in DB development and administration.
• Strong SQL Server (T-SQL) expertise; other RDBMS a plus.
• Hands-on production support, on-call handling.
• Experience with data patching, schema deployment, and release management.
• Performance tuning and query optimization expertise.
• Backup/recovery, high availability, and DR planning.
• Cloud database experience – Azure preferred; AWS/GCP equivalents acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize database schemas, procedures, functions, and views.
• Provide production DB support, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
• Plan data patching, hotfixes, and schema changes with minimal downtime.
• Perform performance tuning and execution-plan analysis.
• Administer DB instances: installation, configuration, upgrades, backup/recovery.
• Manage databases in cloud environments – Azure/AWS/GCP.
• Ensure security controls, access management, encryption, and compliance.
• Monitor health, capacity, and resource utilization; set up alerts.
• Support migrations between on-prem and cloud, and between versions.
• Collaborate with dev teams on data modeling and deployment automation.
• Maintain documentation for configurations and runbooks.
