Job summary

Aeroflow Health seeks a Developer DBA to define great database engineering, bridging senior SQL engineering, architecture, and code quality. This role focuses on standards, reviews, and thoughtful modernization rather than routine backups.

The position is hybrid; remote candidates are welcome with travel to Asheville, NC in early months to build team relationships and alignment with the SQL Engineering group.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional SQL engineering experience or 3+ years of DBA-focused development experience.
• Deep production expertise with Microsoft SQL Server including architecture, data modeling, T-SQL development, and indexing.
• Experience reviewing SQL code and improving engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Code Review (~30%): establish standards for high-quality, maintainable T-SQL and database design.
• Architecture & Technical Consulting (~30%): advise on schema design, performance, and architecture.
• Coaching & Mentoring (~20%): raise technical capability through guidance and mentorship.
• Hands-On Development (~20%): development, optimization, and database modeling.
