Job summary

Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA) is seeking a qualified Special Education teacher to work remotely. You will adapt the K12 curriculum to meet diverse student needs, write compliant IEPs, and collaborate with general education teachers and families to ensure student success.

This remote role requires strong written and verbal communication, ability to manage documentation, and effective use of home office resources to teach across grades 3-5.

Qualifications

• State of Ohio Special Education License is required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web tools is required.
• Experience collaborating with general education teachers and families is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Modify and adapt the K12 curriculum to meet state standards for each student.
• Write and maintain compliant IEPs for students identified with special needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to meet student goals.
• Educate parents on instructional strategies and provide guidance.
• Prepare appropriate documentation and manage required testing when needed.
• Travel up to 20% of the time as required.
