Job summary

Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA) seeks a part-time Special Education Assistant Coordinator to support the SPED Coordinator and ensure program compliance. The role may be home-based with some in-office days in Maumee, OH, and requires travel up to 20% for testing and meetings.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, two years of related experience, and the ability to obtain Ohio Certification. Bachelor’s degree and SPED experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Understanding of state standards and federal regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel about 20% of the time for testing, professional development, and meetings.
• Ability to pass required background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures for Special Education.
• Ensure SPED teachers meet standards and support professional development.
• Assist with compliance documentation for state and federal requirements.
• Help disseminate best practices for SPED in a virtual school setting.
