Lynker is seeking a Web Developer for a long-term contract to support the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) at SWPC in Boulder, CO. The role involves building, maintaining, and testing scientific software tools used in space weather modeling and forecasting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a related field and 5+ years of web development experience, with Python, Fortran or C/C++, Linux, and version control. Remote work may be possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of web development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Fortran, or C/C++ with Linux.
• Familiarity with Git, NetCDF, HDF5, and scripting for workflow automation.

Responsibilities

• Write, refactor, and maintain scientific code for processing data and models.
• Support containerization of scientific applications (Docker, Singularity).
• Assist in design, setup, and execution of testbed experiments and forecast workflows.
• Perform data analysis and quality control of space weather model datasets.
