Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of web development experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, Fortran, or C/C++, with Linux-based environments.
  • Familiarity with Git, NetCDF, HDF5, and scripting for workflow automation.
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate results clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Write, refactor, and maintain scientific code for processing observational data, models, and workflows within the SWPC Testbed.
  • Support containerization of scientific applications using Docker or Singularity for reproducibility and scalability.
  • Assist on testbed experiments, integrating new model outputs and inputs into forecast workflows.
  • Perform data analysis and quality control of space weather model and observation datasets.
  • Contribute to GUIs or visualization tools to improve usability of forecast tools.
