Job summary

Solv Energy is seeking a commissioning professional for utility-scale solar projects. The role focuses on supporting pre-commissioning and commissioning processes to ensure seamless device communications during hot commissioning.

This is a fully remote position with regular travel to various job sites in the United States. You will interpret commissioning plans, coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA teams, and perform tests on communications systems including SCADA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commissioning utility-scale solar power projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking and communications systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical Drawings/Schematics.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site-specific commissioning plans and adhere to schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams including engineering, construction, and QA, SCADA, to align on commissioning activities.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests, including performance, functional, and reliability testing of communications systems.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with industry standards, safety and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during commissioning to ensure optimal SCADA/site communications performance.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports documenting test results, issues, and corrective actions.
