Job summary

Journal Technologies is seeking a Software Implementation Specialist to lead configuration, data conversions, reports, and business rules within client projects. You will train customers, support go-lives, and work within a Scrum team using Jira while coordinating with stakeholders.

Key requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 1+ years in relational databases, and experience with Java, Groovy, Velocity, and REST/SOAP APIs. Occasional travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of professional experience querying relational databases (T-SQL or PL/SQL).
• Implementation Specialist experience or comparable software implementation experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server or Oracle, JasperReports or Crystal Reports, SSRS, Java, Groovy, and Velocity.
• Familiarity with current web technologies, Windows Server environments, and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Ability to learn and apply complex software concepts, follow established procedures, troubleshoot problems, and elevate issues appropriately.
• Strong client service, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Experience working within Agile teams or formal training in Scrum or Agile methodologies is considered a strong asset.
• Ability to travel to client sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Configure case management software, including forms, searches, workflows, and business rules using Groovy and Velocity.
• Gather requirements for data conversions, documents, and reports; support development, testing, and review.
• Conduct client training and provide onsite go-live assistance.
• Troubleshoot technical and procedural issues and escape blockers appropriately.
• Work with Java, Windows Server environments, relational databases, and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Manage assigned work and status updates in Jira.
• Collaborate within a Scrum team and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
