Job summary

Journal Technologies is hiring a Junior Software Implementation Specialist to join our implementation team, delivering contracted products and services. You will configure, train, and support customers through go-live while collaborating with cross-functional teams on data conversions, reports, and workflows.

The role requires 1+ years of database querying and a strong grasp of web technologies, APIs, and software configuration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of professional experience querying relational databases, preferably T-SQL or PL/SQL.
• Implementation Specialist experience or comparable software implementation experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of several of the following: Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle, JasperReports or Crystal Reports, SSRS, Java, Groovy, and Velocity.
• Familiarity with current web technologies, operating systems, Windows Server environments, and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Ability to learn and apply complex software concepts, follow established procedures, troubleshoot problems, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Strong client service, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to client sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Configure case management software, including forms, searches, workflows, and business rules using Groovy and Velocity.
• Gather requirements for data conversions, documents, and reports; support development, testing, and review.
• Conduct client training and provide onsite go-live assistance.
• Troubleshoot technical and procedural issues and escalate blockers appropriately.
• Work with Java, Windows Server environments, relational databases, and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Manage assigned work and status updates in Jira.
• Collaborate within a Scrum team and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
