Job summary

Smile, a health data platform leader, is seeking an Intermediate Software Developer to join our team on the Smile platform that helps healthcare stakeholders collect and exchange data.

You will collaborate across the business to design, implement, and test components, contributing to the full software development lifecycle from analysis to deployment, while adhering to our coding standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience in healthcare/tech (preferred).
• Education in computer science/engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Hands-on experience with Java and Spring, RESTful APIs, SQL, and Git in collaborative environments.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and DevOps practices.
• Experience in middleware development, TDD, and writing clear technical docs.
• Ability to maintain code health and perform end-to-end feature development.
• Knowledge of HL7/FHIR is a plus; frontend familiarity with Angular/JavaScript/Node.js is beneficial.

• Support design, development, and implementation of applications using web technologies.
• Create and maintain technical product and end-user documentation.
• Evaluate requirements and propose high-level design and technical solutions.
• Ensure interoperability, performance, and maintainability of solutions.
• Write high-quality, well-documented code and adhere to coding standards.
• Provide accurate timelines and participate in code reviews.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges; stay current with technologies.
• Support colleagues on complex projects and advocate best practices.
