Job summary

Smile Digital Health seeks a seasoned Solutions Architect – Sales to drive engagement with healthcare clients in the US. You will translate business goals into technical roadmaps, craft architecture diagrams, and support responses to RFPs/RFIs while aligning Smile’s platform with client needs.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to showcase Smile’s capabilities, guide customers through demos/POCs, and ensure successful migrations to the Smile platform.

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of experience in business development, technical sales or customer consulting with system design/architecture involvement.
  • Knowledge of HL7 FHIR and legacy healthcare integration standards.
  • Experience building complex technology systems delivered to customers at scale.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at all levels, up to C-level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with strategic clients and align their objectives with Smile's product roadmap.
  • Lead the customer on their buying journey with proactive solutioning and messaging.
  • Provide scoping, sandbox support and substantiate business/technical solutions.
  • Create high-level IT architecture specs and design documents, troubleshoot design issues.
  • Prepare and present detailed solutions to Smile's Architecture Review Board.

This role will be responsible for assisting in shaping and delivering on the Health Data Platform vision anchored in Smile Digital Health’s growing suite of products. As a trusted Solutions Architect – Sales on the sales team, you will help Clients and prospective customers understand the full breadth, technical and business details of Smile’s solutions through exploratory conversations, presentations, demonstrations, architectural diagrams/documentation, and other activities to understand and scope customer specific requirements. You will also support the development of responses to RFPs, RFIs and similar solicitation documents by detailing the adoption and migration of a customer’s existing systems and data to the Smile platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop strong relationships with varying levels of strategic clients and maintain up-to-date knowledge of business objectives, vision and goals to determine client roadmap alignment with the Smile product roadmap.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to proactively lead the customer on their buying journey by understanding and anticipating their needs and pain points and offering impactful, persuasive solutioning.
  • Provide scoping and sandbox environment support and substantiate business and technical solutions offered to existing and prospective clients.
  • Create high-level IT architecture specifications and design documents along with troubleshooting and resolving issues with design.
  • Assembling details and justifications for proposed solutions and presenting them to Smile’s Architecture Review Board for approval.
  • Identify solutions for existing challenges or obstacles and anticipate potential future challenges.
  • Support the design and migration of data to Smile’s platform while being sensitive to the customer’s business model and cultural transformation towards a Smile Health Data Fabric.
  • Support and contribute to strategic customer proposals by preparing and delivering technical presentations explaining products and services to prospective strategic clients and on-going technical consultation.
  • Participate in the development and execution of product demos and POCs to highlight compelling Smile capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to develop and implement effective account management strategies by providing subject matter expertise on a customer’s current and prospective technical needs and determine how Smile’s solution(s) can meet their business goals and objectives.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, product teams and support to bring the voice of the customer toSmile products.
  • Rapidly develop and maintain a deep knowledge of Smile’s products, HL7 FHIR, market trends, customer environments and the competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to continuously improve product, sales and marketing from a technical perspective.
Responsibilities:
  • 5-10+ years of experience leading business development, technical sales and/or customer consulting as well as contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare technology in one or more facets of the industry – providers, payers, exchanges, government programs – is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of HL7 FHIR and legacy healthcare integration standards and practices is required
  • Significant hands‑on experience in implementation and customer consulting, particularly with identifying and understanding a customer’s particular business challenges.
  • Experience building complex technology-based systems that have been successfully delivered to customers at scale.
  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through the launch of implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical software product features, technical designs, product strategy, and intended solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to present and influence all levels of an organization up to and including C-level/Executive level.
  • Previous experience leading and/or providing senior‑level contributions to strategic RFP response development.
  • Knowledge of professional software development practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience providing support to new hires and colleagues to improve their skills and help elevate the effectiveness of the overall team and company.

$130,000 - $150,000 a year
