Twilio Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer (L2) for the Messaging API. You will design, build, deploy, and operate scalable software, joining a remote-first team with opportunities for in-person gatherings as needed.

We value strong communication, a growth mindset, and collaboration across teams. Experience with Go/Java, Docker, Kubernetes, and DynamoDB is a plus, along with Temporal exposure. This remote role is open to many U.S. locations with certain restrictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Go or Java.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Nice to have DynamoDB experience; cloud platforms like AWS with Docker/Kubernetes; polyglot development across languages; Temporal experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software.
• Work with a small and collaborative team, whiteboarding ideas, building backend services and APIs.
• Perform thorough and thoughtful code reviews to help maintain a high standard of code quality.
• Support production operations, building, releasing and assisting with team on-call.
• Craft clear and concise documentation.
