Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first, US-based company redefining how people pay over time. We’re hiring a software engineer with 1.5+ years of experience to ship web apps with React and design APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.

You’ll work with product, design, and analytics to break down work, own cross‑component solutions, and participate in interviews to grow the team. Flexible location within the United States supports collaboration across the globe.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineer experience.
• Experience shipping web apps with React.
• Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to turn a simple problem into a cross‑component solution with well-tested, extensible code.
• Comfort debugging a large codebase and giving code reviews to peers.

Responsibilities

• Break down large projects into tasks and deliver in phases with the team lead.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics in ideation and decision-making.
• Maintain team artifacts, monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support on-call efforts.
• Contribute to team growth by participating in the interview process.
