Job summary

One Call is seeking a Software Engineer II in a remote-friendly NJ-based team. You will contribute across the development life cycle, from design to implementation, collaborating with analysts and product managers to deliver reliable software for internal partners and clients.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in CS or related field and 2–5 years of dev experience, with strong SDLC knowledge, customer focus, and communication skills. Remote work is supported with standard company benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• Knowledge of end-to-end SDLC approaches (waterfall, iterative, agile, etc.).
• Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to share relevant technical and industry knowledge with others.
• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide software development services or technical support on defined projects.
• Follow One Call SDLC Standards.
• Develop or modify program logic for new or existing applications.
• Code, test, debug, document, implement and maintain software applications.
• Maintain, test and integrate application components.
• Ensure system improvements are implemented successfully.
• Understand One Call systems and the workers' compensation industry.
• Participate in planning and analysis phases of SD projects.
• Translate requirements into product designs; write technical specifications and docs.
• Suggest technical alternatives and improve processes.
• Complete project assignments and special tasks; plan, analyze and forecast tasks.
• May provide leadership to other technical staff.
