Job summary

Disability Law Group seeks a Social Security Attorney to manage a high-volume caseload and represent clients in disability claims and hearings. You will collaborate with a Case Manager, Records Managers, and a growing tech-supported infrastructure, including AI tools for brief generation and hearing prep.

This role offers independence, flexibility for personal styles, and responsibility over case files, with a Case Manager and team to assist with intake and file ordering.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school and licensed to practice in Michigan.
• Experience in Social Security disability claims is preferred but not required.
• Strong writing, communication, and client-centered advocacy are essential.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients before SSA at Initial, Reconsideration, ALJ, and Appeals Council levels.
• Draft briefs, memoranda, and Appeals Council letters for complex matters.
• Collaborate with Case Managers to prepare submissions and secure records.
• Maintain regular, empathetic communication with clients and deadlines.
• Participate in weekly meetings and mentor junior staff; optional USDC work over time.
