Job summary

Major League Hacking is looking for a Social Media Contractor to execute campaigns and publish content across MLH and DEV accounts, brand podcasts, and event pages. You will translate event energy into compelling content and manage our content calendar in real time.

The role requires hands-on creation of posts, graphics, and short-form video, with strong writing skills and the ability to adapt voice for multiple platforms. Remote, US-based, 20 hours/week, $45–$55 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2-6 years managing social media for a brand, community, or organization.
• Experience working with an organization as a social media contractor.
• Strong writing skills and a feel for adapting voice to different platforms.
• Hands-on experience with short-form video and graphic/visual content design in Figma or Adobe Suite.
• Comfort with social analytics and turning metrics into decisions.
• Self-directed, organized, and able to move quickly across multiple channels.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and execute on our content calendar across all MLH social channels including LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, Discord, Facebook, and YouTube. Familiarity with Bluesky & Threads are a plus.
• Create and publish platform-native content: posts, graphics, short-form video, and community highlights
• Track, surface, and proactively engage with community and global social media trends
• Grow and engage our audience of student developers, alumni, sponsors, and partners
• Cover live events, capturing and sharing the hackathon experience in real time
• Track performance and pull campaign data as needed
• Partner with the content, marketing, and programs teams to keep messaging aligned
