Job summary

Major League Hacking is seeking a Social Media Contractor to execute campaigns and publish content across MLH and DEV channels, brand-owned podcast and event accounts during prime windows.

You’ll turn the energy of our events and the achievements of our community into content that informs, inspires, and grows our audience. This is a hands-on role for someone who can collaborate and execute on our content calendar in one hour, and cut a Short or reply to a founder in our mentions the next.

Qualifications

• 2-6 years managing social media for a brand, community, or organization.
• Experience working with an organization as a social media contractor.
• Strong writing skills and ability to adapt voice per platform.
• Hands-on short-form video and graphic content design using Figma or Adobe.
• Comfort with social analytics and turning metrics into decisions.
• Familiarity with the developer, tech, or startup world.
• Self-directed, organized, and able to move quickly across channels.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and execute on our content calendar across all MLH social channels including LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, Discord, Facebook, and YouTube.
• Create and publish platform-native content: posts, graphics, short-form video, and community highlights.
• Track, surface, and engage with community and global social media trends.
• Grow and engage our audience of student developers, alumni, sponsors, and partners.
• Cover live events, capturing and sharing the hackathon experience in real time.
• Track performance and pull campaign data as needed.
• Partner with the content, marketing, and programs teams to keep messaging aligned.
