Job summary

Advocate Health offers a remote summer internship in social media and external communications. You’ll gain hands-on experience across content creation, community management, design, and analytics while supporting organizational strategies.

You will work up to 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, May 31, 2027–August 6, 2027, with eligibility for WV residents to work remotely. No prior experience required, and enrollment in a relevant degree is expected.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as junior or senior pursuing a BA in Communications or related field.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Excel.
• Interest in social media and external communications.

Responsibilities

• Produce social media posts across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest with graphics and copy.
• Monitor branded social activity including reviews and comments.
• Design graphics for Pinterest and Instagram and infographics for healthenews.
• Draft and edit press releases, media pitches, talking points and other materials.
• Support social and digital marketing campaign initiatives.
• Identify compelling stories highlighting initiatives and impact.
• Adapt messaging for different audiences and channels.
• Assist ideation of social media initiatives.
• Potential to go on-site for events and activations.
• Research healthcare trends to inform communications plans.
