Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an intern for Social Media and External Communications. The role offers practical experience in content creation, design, writing, video, analytics and more within a healthcare communications team.

Remote, work-from-home for residents in KS and other allowed states, 40 hours/week, May 31, 2027–August 6, 2027. Internship focuses on supporting organizational strategies and campaigns, with opportunities to engage across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and healthenews

Qualifications

Current enrollment as junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, marketing or related field.
Minimum 2.5 GPA and strong written/verbal communication skills.
Experience not required; willingness to learn and contribute to social media efforts.

Responsibilities

Produce social media posts for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest with graphics and copy.
Monitor branded social accounts and respond to reviews, messages and comments.
Design graphics for Pinterest/Instagram and infographics for brand journalism sites.
Draft and edit press releases, pitches, talking points and announcements.
Identify stories highlighting initiatives, employees and community impact.
Adapt messaging for different audiences and channels; assist on external communications.
