Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Social Impact Manager to oversee two Community Programs—GitLab for Nonprofits and GitLab for Education. You will connect technical implementation with strategy to expand access to GitLab for nonprofits, students, and educators, managing relationships and streamlining operations across both programs.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration, evaluate progress against objectives, and partner with Sales and Marketing to grow membership and renewals, while developing

Qualifications

• Experience managing corporate social responsibility, social impact, community advocacy, or related programs.
• Experience managing in-kind donation programs.
• Analytical, data-driven approach to building community programs.
• Written and verbal communication skills, including translating complex concepts into clear messages.
• Organizational skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Experience coordinating projects across internal and external stakeholders via cross-functional collaboration.
• Technical acumen, including using GitLab and handling technical requests.
• Proficiency with Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage relationships with nonprofit organizations, universities, and program members.
• Oversee day-to-day operations for both programs, streamline processes, and improve operational efficiency.
• Lead internal program communications, manage applicant inquiries, and maintain partnerships with verification providers.
• Develop metrics to evaluate, track, and report progress against program objectives and GitLab's social impact goals.
• Assist nonprofit and university community members with product implementation and connect applicants to support resources.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to grow program membership and improve renewal rates.
• Create resources to help GitLab team members and the wider community advocate for each program, and collaborate on case studies, webinars, and spotlights.
• Track industry trends, conduct benchmarking, and establish best practices for social impact and community initiatives.
