Job summary

GitLab Inc. is seeking a Social Impact Manager to lead two community programs—GitLab for Nonprofits and GitLab for Education—end to end.

You’ll align program strategy with technical implementation, expanding access to GitLab for nonprofits, students, and educators. You’ll build partnerships, streamline operations, and develop metrics to track progress toward GitLab's social impact goals, while collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and cross-functional teams to grow membership and drive renewal

Qualifications

• Experience managing corporate social responsibility or related programs.
• Experience managing in-kind donation programs.
• Analytical, data-driven approach to building community programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication to convey complex ideas clearly.
• Organizational skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Experience leading projects across internal and external stakeholders.
• Technical acumen to use GitLab and handle technical requests.
• Proficiency in Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage relationships with nonprofit organizations, universities, and program members.
• Oversee day-to-day operations for both programs, streamline processes, and improve operational efficiency.
• Lead internal program communications, manage applicant inquiries, and maintain partnerships with verification providers.
• Develop ways to evaluate, track, and report on progress against program objectives and GitLab's broader social impact goals.
• Assist nonprofit and university community members with product implementation and connect applicants to appropriate support resources.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to grow program membership and improve renewal rates.
• Create resources that help GitLab team members and the wider community advocate for each program, and collaborate on case studies, webinars, blog posts, and spotlights.
• Track industry trends, conduct benchmarking, and establish best practices for social impact and community initiatives.
