Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer for a globally remote role. You will automate and scale operations across OpenStack, Kubernetes, and open source infrastructure, spanning bare metal to cloud environments. The role emphasizes Python, Linux, networking, and knowledge of how clouds interwork.

You will gain exposure to Kubeflow, Kafka, OpenSearch, databases, and related technologies while collaborating with distributed teams and customers worldwide.

Qualifications

Degree in software engineering or computer science required.
Proficient Python development experience.
Operational Linux environment experience.
Experience with Kubernetes deployment or operations.
Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, accountability.
Willingness to travel internationally twice a year.

Responsibilities

Deploy and run OpenStack, Kubernetes, storage solutions and open source apps.
Apply DevOps practices across global brand-name customer environments.
Work across the full stack from bare metal to containers and cloud.
Stay current with evolving cloud technologies and open source trends.
