Job summary

Canonical is seeking Linux cloud solutions architects and software engineers to design, deploy, and hand over private/public cloud solutions using OpenStack, Kubernetes, and open source tooling. You will implement Python-based operators, contribute to infrastructure‑as‑code, and support customers globally from a home-based role.

The role emphasizes collaboration, strong communication, continuous learning, and hands‑on work across the Linux stack, with occasional travel up to 25% for events.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or related software engineering expertise.
• Sound knowledge of cloud computing concepts & technologies (Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph).
• Practical knowledge of Linux and networking; intermediate to advanced Python skills.

Responsibilities

• Work across the entire Linux stack from kernel to applications.
• Develop open source code in Python and design Kubernetes operators.
• Architect cloud infrastructure solutions (OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, Hadoop, Spark) on-premises or in public cloud.
• Coach and develop colleagues and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
• Travel up to 25% of time for events; work from home.
