Job summary

Ocient is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to maintain and expand our hosted data warehouse service, with a focus on high availability, performance, and security.

Based in the UK and operating on a remote model, you will design monitoring, automate deployment on Linux, and contribute to incident response. UK security clearance is a plus and you will work with CI/CD tools and common monitoring stacks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of system administration in production environments.
• Holds, or has previously recently held, UK Security Clearance
• Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or other languages.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar.
• Experience with Git.
• Ability to work flexible hours and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and operations of Ocient's hosted database and related services, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Design and maintain monitoring, log centralization, and alerting for observability and incident management.
• Automate deployment and configuration of Linux-based servers and applications.
• Develop and maintain security practices to protect data and services.
• Assist with automation of testing pipelines and monitoring of test infrastructure.
