Job summary

Planet Labs PBC is seeking a Direct Access Service Infrastructure engineer to build and operate critical compute software across on‑premise and cloud environments, enabling next‑generation imaging operations.

You will partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliability, scale, and security, while contributing to air‑gapped deployments and distributed systems expertise. This is a full‑time remote role based in the United States or Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent required.
• 6+ years building cloud-native services and distributed systems.
• Experience deploying bare-metal and cloud Kubernetes clusters.
• Strong Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or similar IaC tooling.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Argo CD, CircleCI).

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and operate compute software for on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Design reproducible deployment pipelines and monitoring solutions.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response.
