Job summary

RWS is seeking contributors for a Sinhala speech data collection project. Work from home on flexible, task-based engagements to record and annotate spontaneous Sinhala speech for AI speech recognition development.

Start immediately with a freelance arrangement. Access to an online recording platform and a quiet recording space is required, with a remote, flexible schedule (2–4 hours daily).

Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in Sinhala (Sri Lanka) with authentic pronunciation.
• Attention to detail for annotations and metadata.
• Experience with speech recording or data annotation is an advantage, not required.

Responsibilities

• Record or collect natural, spontaneous Sinhala speech per project guidelines.
• Capture speech from approved real-life situations like workplace conversations or casual talks.
• Complete conversational speech tasks and participate in voice or voice-text interactions with AI systems.
• Annotate collected speech data according to provided instructions.
• Provide metadata and required information for each recording.
